Top Tips from a Top Real Estate Closer

I got to meet one of my AMs in person!

Happy Monday Everyone!

If you follow me on my socials, you’ll see a video today where I had the opportunity to meet one of my top sales guys, Dave, in person for the first time.

He was kind enough to film a quick reel with me giving his top 3 tips to success closing deals after snagging 100 deals for the company in about 2 years.

Behind the scenes in our company we refer to him as “Steady Dave” because he grinds along, month by month, doing his thing and consistently closing deals.

He’s never swayed by varying lead flow and holds his cool when things get busy.

(its funny because he doesnt know this but I know he reads this newsletter so he’s going to learn his nickname)

It’s always funny meeting people in person when you have only known them via Zoom for the entirety of your relationship. They always seem like a stranger at first but become immediately familiar as soon as you start chatting.

During our lunch we actually did pretty good not talking about business the entire time, but ultimately it of course came up and it was great to have some long form discussions around how things are going and what Dave wants to accomplish.

All in all I really enjoyed the experience getting to connect with him personally and not just “in the virtual office” like we do every day.

Anyways his 3 tips were simple.

People always expect some kind of magic secret from questions like this but Real Estate Sales (just like all sales) come down to the same fundamental principles.

  1. Treat people like people.

  2. Understand that most leads will not be deals and that’s OK.

  3. Be CONSISTENT with your follow up, and never give up.

  4. BONUS TIP: Get some leisure time in to help stay focused. For Dave that’s hitting the waves on his surfboard down at the beach.

I wanted to make this Reel to portray 1 major thing.

Despite what social media shows you, how sales is portrayed in movies and books, the typical sales types with Sales people….

Great sales people can be….. people!

You don’t need to be a chest bumping, Andy Elliot type alpha male. It comes down to work ethic and consistency more than anything else.

So, next time you are doubting your sales skills and trying to figure out where the heck your next contract is going to come from, be like Dave.

Treat your sellers well.

Understand most people wont sell, so you better make a lot of calls.

Never drop the ball, and definitely never give up.

Dave, since I know you will read this it was awesome meeting you my man and know there was plenty of praise for ya when I posted our photo to my stories.

You can check out the reel on my instagram.

Have a good day everyone.
